Our Growth

In the beginning, Bentley’s Mfg, Inc. only worked with customers in the Portland Oregon metro area producing marine seating, custom boat covers and tops.  Our business was very seasonal and so we started to look into other industries that could benefit from our expertise and skill set.  As it turns out, there were others who needed our services and we quickly expanded from just the marine related industry into a variety of other areas.  We now have a full time sales person dedicated to project diversification.  This means we are constantly bidding on an array of projects from mailbags for interdepartmental mail for a school district to bench pads for an organ manufacturer to computer covers.

 

Experience at Work

Between the19 skilled craftspeople we employ, there are over three centuries of accumulated experience at Bentley’s.  The majority of our team has been working for us over 10 years.  Since we are constantly adapting, and changing to meet the needs of our customers, our skilled staff learns new things with each new project that comes our way.

 

We believe working in so many areas only makes us better at what we do. We do our research

Several years ago we were approached by a local riverboat that is quite busy with their scenic, lunch, and dinner cruises.  They needed new seats so we sold them seats made with brand X vinyl and they used these for one year.  Bentley’s then replaced them with an identical seat made with Naugahyde brand vinyl and they used these seats for one year.  The result?  There was no comparison at all.  The seats with the Naugahyde vinyl looked brand new while the brand X vinyl was extremely worn and damaged.  Many years later, the owners are still happy with the performance of their Naugahyde seats.

 

Quality Material

Quality products start with using superior materials, which is why we have used Naugahyde brand vinyl material for years.  While there are many brands of vinyl on the market, only one brand stands up to heavy use and tough weather conditions.  Sun Brella is another example of a quality material used in all our golf cart enclosures because it is durable and stands the test of time.  As you read the descriptions of our products, you will notice we use non-corrosive fasteners, high-strength aluminum and stainless steel hardware-all things that define high quality and durability.

We stand behind our workmanship 100% and guarantee our seats, tops and covers for recreational use for two full years.  Use common sense and follow directions, for Bentley’s does not guarantee a product that has been misused or neglected.
